Alright, let me be clear : this is not a project nor something realized or that will ever be. Though, if you're interested in helping this out to be real (if you have great theming skills or if you are a Steve Job's relative), it'd be my pleasure !
So this is how I see the future of Lockscreens. I made that from the consideration that the iPhone user interface, among others, is really not modern, it hasn't got any contemporary design like we can see in print works for example. I've been highly inspired by what has been released for some time on the theming forums as well as in the interface designs such as Windows phone 7 (yes, sometimes they do great things, even if it remains too rare).
So the point is, staying with Helvetica (maybe because it has been Apple's default for quite a while now), to propose an alternative to the boring lockscreen of the iPhone. Indeed, in the iOS design, everything is centered and so Photoshop. So it's good to be a geek, but what I need is a modern interface.
So it's working like this : when you turn the phone on, you get the usual date and time, and the "slide to unlock" element. The background is only 15% opacity and has no aqua effect so it doesn't really hide your wallpaper, and reacts well with clear ones. But you'll have one more slide, just below the clock, so that you can access "quick widgets" delivering informations about life organization, also white on translucent black. In this example, you can see two pages of widgets, among which are calendars, events, weather, and messages (or any app's notifications). The way I imagine things is that you would access the Settings app to add / remove / change the order of these "quick widgets" and pages, so that you would be able to quickly crawl through many of those. Maybe we could even think of some extra widgets that could be downloaded right from the App Store.
i would have the weather and message thing at the first page tho, because thats what you want to know when you look at your phone first. i would also change the messages thing so that it says: "messages (3)" and then just "1 text | 1 email | 1 facebook"

Unfortunately it's not possible to do everything with HTML, CSS and JS
